Timber Frame Pole Barn Kits

A barn is an agricultural building typically on farms and used for a variety of purposes. In the North American area, a barn refers to structures that house livestock, such as horses and cows, as well as gear and fodder, and often grain. Because of this, the expression barn is often qualified e.g. tobacco barn, dairy barn, sheep barn, potato barn. In the British Isles, the expression duplex is confined mainly to storage structures for unthreshed cereals and fodder, the terms byre or shippon being applied to cow shelters, whereas horses have been kept in buildings known as stables. On the Continent, however, barns were often a part of integrated structures known as byre-dwellings (or house barns in US literature). In addition, barns may be used for gear storage, as a covered workplace, also for activities such as threshing.
