Timber Frame Pole Barn Kits

A barn is an agricultural building usually on farms and used for various functions. In the North American region, a barn describes structures which house livestock, such as cattle and horses, as well as gear and fodder and often grain. As a result, the term barn is often qualified e.g. tobacco barn, dairy barn, sheep barn, potato barn. In the British Isles, the term duplex is confined mainly to storage structures for unthreshed cereals and fodder, the terms byre or shippon being employed to cow shelters, whereas horses have been kept in buildings called stables. On the Continent, however, barns were often part of integrated structures called byre-dwellings (or house barns in US literature). In addition, barns might be used for gear storage, as a coated office, also for activities like threshing.
