Timber Frame Barn Kits

A barn is a agricultural building usually on farms and used for a variety of functions. In the North American area, a barn refers to structures which house livestock, such as horses and cows, in addition to equipment and fodder and often grain. Because of this, the expression barn is often qualified e.g. tobacco barn, dairy barn, sheep barn, potato barn. In the British Isles, the expression duplex is confined mainly to storage structures for unthreshed cereals and fodder, the conditions byre or shippon being employed to cow shelters, whereas horses have been stored in buildings known as stables. On the Continent, however, barns were often part of integrated structures known as byre-dwellings (or house barns in US literature). In addition, barns may be used for equipment storage, as a coated office, and for activities like threshing.
