Timber Frame Barn Kits

A barn is an agricultural construction typically on farms and used for various functions. From the North American area, a barn refers to structures that house livestock, such as horses and cows, in addition to equipment and fodder and often grain. Because of this, the term barn is often qualified e.g. tobacco barn, dairy barn, sheep barn, potato barn. From the British Isles, the term duplex is confined mainly to storage arrangements for unthreshed cereals and fodder, the conditions byre or shippon being applied to cow shelters, whereas horses have been stored in structures called stables. On the Continent, however, barns were often part of integrated structures called byre-dwellings (or house barns in US literature). In addition, barns may be used for equipment storage, as a covered workplace, and for activities like threshing.
