Timber Frame Barn Kits

A barn is a agricultural building typically on farms and used for a variety of functions. In the North American region, a barn refers to structures that house livestock, such as cattle and horses, in addition to gear and fodder and often grain. As a result, the expression barn is often qualified e.g. tobacco barn, dairy barn, sheep barn, potato barn. In the British Isles, the expression duplex is confined mainly to storage structures for unthreshed cereals and fodder, the terms byre or shippon being applied to cow shelters, whereas horses have been kept in structures called stables. On the Continent, however, barns were often a part of integrated structures called byre-dwellings (or house barns in US literature). Additionally, barns may be used for gear storage, as a coated office, and for activities such as threshing.
