Timber Frame Barn Kits Vermont

A barn is an agricultural construction usually on farms and used for various purposes. In the North American region, a barn describes structures which house livestock, including horses and cows, as well as gear and fodder and often grain. Because of this, the term barn is often qualified e.g. tobacco barn, dairy barn, sheep barn, potato barn. In the British Isles, the term barn is restricted mainly to storage structures for unthreshed cereals and fodder, the terms byre or shippon being applied to cow shelters, whereas horses have been kept in buildings called stables. On the Continent, however, barns were often a part of integrated structures called byre-dwellings (or even house barns in US literature). Additionally, barns may be used for gear storage, as a coated office, also for activities such as threshing.
