Timber Frame Barn Kits Vermont

A barn is an agricultural construction usually on farms and used for a variety of purposes. In the North American region, a barn describes structures which house livestock, including cattle and horses, as well as gear and fodder and frequently grain. Because of this, the term barn is frequently qualified e.g. tobacco barn, dairy barn, sheep barn, potato barn. In the British Isles, the term duplex is confined mainly to storage structures for unthreshed cereals and fodder, the conditions byre or shippon being employed to cow shelters, whereas horses have been stored in structures known as stables. On the Continent, however, barns were frequently part of integrated structures known as byre-dwellings (or house barns in US literature). Additionally, barns may be used for gear storage, as a coated office, also for activities like threshing.
